    Need some computer help.

I have a few desktop icons that are shortcuts to web pages such as "Google" and "Facebook" and a few others. Tonight when I click on them none of them will open. I can open all programs that I have shortcuts for, but none that go to a web page.
I'm able to open Internet explorer and then type in the address and it goes right to that web page but none of my shortcuts seem to work all of a sudden. I've not done any upgrades or updates lately (that I know of).
I have several webpages such as this forum "pinned" to my desktop and I can click on all of those and it takes me to all the correct sites.

Does anyone know why this might be doing this?

Well, I assume that you tried a reboot?

If so and it's still an issue, then it sounds like you have either a plugin hung up or some malware. Can try going to the Tools>>Intenet Options>>Programs tab>>Manage Add-ons and see if you can disable some. Otherwise you may try following Brent's article on flushing out the malware...

Before you dive into it being malware, you might try some of the tips on this page: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...9-ab6afb88dfe7

well I guess the reboot took care of it. I had planned to do that but asked my question here before I actually did it. Anyway, thank you Darren for your help.
