Turning a Teapot

Hollowing rig, bandsaw and file for the spout and handle. Steve Bellinger does a great job of them. I don't think the Gibsons ever put out a tutorial. Trial and error may be the best road!
I see you are in Salinas...SHS grad class of '78. Still have a lot of extended family and friends in the area.

Larry I have made a few. Like Jim said hollow out your basic form, then cut your handle and spout out on a band saw. I use what ever I have in the shop to get the look I want. Dremel with carving spurs, and sanding drums. And yes round rasps also work well. O lots of fitting them to the main form. I think the fit means every thing when it comes to these. Here's one I did a bit ago.

Hold everything, please! Do you actually make TEA in these, or are they just for display? They are beautiful, but as an Englishman I have to say there's a reason we make tea in ceramic pots. Won't the wood flavour the tea? It's bad enough you Americans putting pumpkin spices in it, leave us our Brown Betties! :D
