    turning, turning, turning. ........

I'm getting a good amount of these ready , I have four others drying and 8 finished. Started turning Strikers in hopes of selling a striker match up with a call.

Those look like fun. You've definitely got some interesting pieces of wood there which should .. strike up .. some interest

I don't really know enough about the mechanics of using them to comment in a useful way other than to say your turning looks pretty nice and crisp. I especially like the sort of tear drop shape you have going on on the two black ones. Second (third really I guess) favorite is the second from the left, it has two clear

I'm surprised that you don't part off the ends of strikers more while on the lathe. When doing stuff like that I usually almost entirely part off the pretty end while on the lathe and usually take the other end to not much more than a nub.

Ryan I leave the ends on the strikers so I can spin them for sanding and finishing. Once that's done I'll spin the ends off to the shape I want.
    Thanks Ryan and Paul

At first I thought you might be making bagpipe chanters.

Thanks John and Jim. As long as I'm having fun and the lath keeps my interest I hope to make all I can and turn new designs in each piece.

Very fine. Encouraging me to get back and do more on my lathe. It misses me.
