My wireless router has become very sporadic in its ability to connect me with anything. I may be going dark until sometime Monday, when I can buy a new one. It had been giving us trouble, and I upgraded the firmware, which seems to have put the final nail in the coffin.

Agreed, the titled scared me. I think my router is wearing out or like every internet service I have subscribed to works great for a year or so and then starts degrading. Normally because the provider has over subscribed their service.

Just went through the loss of a wireless router myself. Mine was probably 10 years old. I bought a dual band Asus 450 Mbps N band router as a replacement.

The improvement in speed for my laptop and tablet is incredible. I no longer have to wait for a screen to load when I am surfing. Everything is virtually instantaneous now and is as fast as my desktop. I should have upgraded years ago.
