I have been talking about doing wood Glazing since early in 2011

I have done some glazing with paint - the concept is similar.

NOW - I am finally going to do some wood glazing.

I do not do hand carved reliefs - this is a CNC made project.

I'll post picture a bit later.

It's a hummingbird plaque for a friend.

I read some glazing posts and I also have a tutorial from my CNC forum.

I plan to do the glazing Monday or Tuesday.

Today - Sunday - I painted the perimeter black. In the future I may try a dark coffee or light brown to try to accent the glaze.

Any thoughts?

You're a bit vague, What kind of glazing are you using oil glaze, acrylic glaze, Lacquer base glaze, depending on your base depends on the type of Glaze you can use.
some of the nicest glazes I've done are
Color base lacquer , with and oil glaze, and
alcohol based Stain

I use Maple to do the carving

I then sealed with rattle can shellac - 2/3 coats

I have some General Finishes Van Dyke Glaze - water based.

I did the glazing today.

It was surprisingly easy to do.

This was my for time, so I am certain there are better ways.

I will post a pic later.
