If this won't cut it...

I probably should know this, but what is a CBN wheel?

Roger,
Check out D-way Tools. I went there a few months ago to look at lathe tools, and got hooked on the notion of upgrading to CBN after watching Dave's videos. Then I ran into an old friend who was doing a turning demo at Woodcraft, and he had his two grinders at the demo, each sporting two CBN wheels. He just took a light touch to the wheels with his gouges to refresh the edges.

I only have a 6" grinder, so I am going to get an 8" grinder this year, and then upgrade to CBN. (Dave sells 6" CBN wheels, but I want a new grinder anyway.)

On a slight off-course direction from the thread's intent, I just received two lathe tools from D-way Tools -- a parting tool, and a 1/2" spindle gouge. Wow, D-way really has nice turning tools. The gouge was scary sharp. Now I understand why Dave ships them with the waxy tip covering on them. I'll be turning my own handles and will then report on them.
