    Today's Turning

This bowl was turned from a piece of Burr Oak burl - I almost threw it out because it had a huge amount of bark on it - I wasn't certain there was enough wood there to even attempt to turn. It turned out better than I hoped - given all the inclusions. Not bad for an almost piece of trash.

Sanded to 200, one coat of wipe on poly - I'll do a few more coats later.

Sandy that is a beauty. I like it and can't wait to see it with more poly. Keep'em coming.

Sandy, some of my best pieces have come from wood that aws too ugly for the BURN pile

VERY nice piece of wood there, with more poly on it, should pop even more!!

Sandy nice job.A lot of my recent bowls have had their share of bark inclusions and rotted spots but CA glue and sawdust saves a lot. Good Recovery,
