    Stacked Crown Molding

Just finished a stacked crown molding project in my living room (16' ceiling) and open hallway (8' ceiling). It's made from stock base molding and 3 5/8" crown molding from Home Depot. I painted the parts first before putting them up and came back to touch up afterward.. Approximately 92'. Glad to be off the ladder. All inside corners were coped except for the sloped ceiling corners. I don't have a good picture of an outside corner or the sloped ceiling corners to post.

That really looks great. I'd love to see a cross section to help understand how you stacked it.

    A Cross Section

Here's a cross section made up of scraps. It's pretty simple. I made a couple simple jigs to mark my walls to place the base pieces and another to place the crown on them.Click image for larger version.

Thanks, Pete. I couldn't figure it out from your first pics.
