Bodark Mortar & Pestle

Hi Jim! I promise not to snatch your M&M's and grind them in it. Not even to stir in my own brand of blizzard. Mother Nature determines the true causes of things to happen such as wood change. Purple would be different. Hmmmm. Actually, now that I think about it I really kinda don't like purple.
 
David, I have not worked with yellow heart but I did look up a little bit on it. It is softer than bodark, or Osage Orange, and it does apparently darken a little bit as it ages. It seems to be in the same range of hardness as pecan or hickory. This info came from WoodWeb. Hope that helps you.
