    maple bowl thing

    I finally figured out the picture posting here. Not that it's any different than smc, just didn't have the right software to resize. Thanks to all that helped. Now be prepared to be inundated with pictures .

    I don't know if y'all have had the opportunity to see any of Jimmy Clews turing videos yet. In my opinion, he's one outstanding turner/artist/teacher. I have all four of his videos and watch them over and over.

    Attached are some pics of a piece of maple with a little burl and some brass rod. Jimmy made one on his video from walnut and silver. I thought I would try to make one similar. Of course, his is like a gagillion times better.

    I finished it with tung oil. It's about 11-1/2" x 2"

    Please tell me what you think, good or bad.

    I like it George. Glad to see ya posting. Does this mean that you good to go for turning anything but walnut..

    george, i like the wood and shape but the brass doesn`t do anything for me...tod

    I went to the allergist office today to get the results of the test. All showed negative including the walnut .
