    A walk in the park

After mentioning that I haven't seen a Burr Oak, I ran smack into this one at a local bird sanctuary and farm animal display. And look where I found it!

There are 27 trees, mostly imported, along a stretch along the shore of Lake Ontario, honouring the 27 Canadians who were killed on 9/11.

So now I've seen a Burr Oak. It appears to be a species of Red Oak, with the pointy lobes on the leaves. There's at least one in Ontario.

That's a nice remembrance of a sad day for the whole world. I hope those trees grow healthy and tall.

    +5,
BTW is that the same as a Pin Oak ?
I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious.

Not according to Wikipedia. Pin Oak is a red oak, and Burr Oak is a white oak (my mistake!) AFAIK, we dont have either type in Canada.

Gee I had not even noticed that I was dead on 9-11. However there sure seems to be evidence of that. I noticed that there are a bunch of wood nuts up here.

    Enjoy,

Those, of course, are the donors to the site. Jim Bradley is our local Member of Provincial Parliament, well-liked even by people like me, who have never voted for him. I've wanted to work that factoid into a reply to you for a long time.
