More old work - cherry captains desk

A captains desk in cherry with some maple inset on the front that's of a similar vintage to the breadbox at somewhere pushing 30 years. It was meant to have turned legs between the feet and the top but.. ummm.. yeah.. didn't quite get to that.. If you think YOU'VE had projects sitting mostly done for a long time, here's a topper

Apologies for the poor lighting, taken in a bit of a hurry heading out the door.

More old work - cherry captains desk

I will have to wait until I get home as it is hard to see on my phone, but it looks great.

Nice pieces Ryan, really like the contrast on the desk. The breadbox is classic!

Ryan I have one that survived the fire. Mine was used as a ofice desk on the C&O I was told. Nice piece.
I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious.

Apologies on the poor picture on the desk, the contrast is even better in person. I put walnut around the maple piece and the pencil stop is walnut as well. When it was new it was a bit much, but it's aged into a subtle distinction that works really well.

Oh and the drawers still don't have glides either. So it's definitely a 25 year old wip.
