Started my swapproject today

This is the last post on this for today.

This is the actual cut - from one of the previous previews.

I can't help it but, I am part of the audience when these things come together.

My router just finished a run that I started at 10:30 and it is not just a little before 3:00. I was running between 75 to 90 inches a minute, which is WHY I want a machine that cuts reliably at 300 IPM.

Anyway - I was cleaning it up a little while it is still screwed down on the machine. There is still more to be done on this part.

As I was cleaning it up and doing a tiny bit of 220 sanding, I was thinking WOW - WOW this looks really AWESOME. This is certainly going to be one of my greatest achievements. This is REALLY awesome - whoever gets it should be happy to have it. Well at least I think so. :D

Then again it may end up in someones woodstove.

Got back from Shopping and spending ANOTHER $250 at the VET.

My little Chippy broke his leg 5-6 weeks ago and was in a splint, but now that is off and he has a soft wrap on his leg.

Anyway - I just finish the last two cuts and took this piece off the machine. Started at 10:30 this morning and finished at 7:45 tonight. It was a good day.

1 piece down - 5 more pieces to go. But the one was definitely the longest cut time.

Tomorrow I will TRY to get t more pieces done.

Then - there is still assembly and finishing.

Again - this is looking good.

Sorry - no pic - I just cannot do that yet. :D

Those Vet bills add up quickly, don't they. I had over $300 in just X-rays & sedation for Izzy's knee/hip. She was limping badly, but no breakage - it turned out to just be a soft tissue injury. Took about another month, and $150 worth of Rimadyl to clear it up. Just paid another $150 for exam and shots last month, too.

October 4, 2015 updates

My little Chippy's broken leg is about $1000.

It easily could have been $3750 is the Orthopedic surgeon though he needed it.

ANYWAY - today's updates,

Tease-12.jpg

So far today - I bunch of programming difficulties - but I got that all straightened out - finally.

LATE start today - 11:00 - due to the programming

So - I have two of these - right hand and left hand.

Back side is same on both

Fronts are mirrored

These are the backs

Now - On to the fronts.

I may do a show and tell a little later - maybe.

It's 2:30 now

One of the mirrored pieces is done - pile of sanding to do.

I am not happy about something on this piece but I can fix it. Lesson learned.

Anyway - I cannot show all - YET - but here is a little more reveal.

That is 2 down and 4 to go.

October 12, 2015 updates

OK, so I managed a little on Friday, Sunday and Monday - but this is the official update day.

Sorry, you cannot see the middle yet.

I have 4 out of 6 panels done.

One more will get done today - maybe 2 more.

After this is the assembly, then the finishing.

I should be able to meet the deadline.

Well - I have revealed a little more of the middle sections.

One panel is completely exposed.

I did manage to get all six panels cut.

Now - I need to move to finishing --- sanding, fitting, staining, glazing, top coating
