    New Vacuum hose...kinda

Recently I bid on some pool supplies and hose at an online auction, I ended up getting the hose for $10, however rather than it being 1 1/2" hose, which is what my pool is setup for, it was 2".

So what to do with 50' of this hose? I did a little googling and found some shopvac hose connectors on ebay, so ordered a few.

It did turn out the hose was a little too small for the connector to push in, even when heat is applied to the hose, so I cut a few relief cuts in the connector on the bandsaw, which worked like a charm.

Cool score. I've used rubber sewer line couplings similar to this to connect mismatched vacuum hose fittings:

Yeah the Fernco fittings are what make most of my dust collection setup work at all

Nice save on the pool hose! You're doing pretty well with that new auction place there

Cool save. I had a similar session with vac hose connectors on my router table. Wish they would standardize these things.
