Recently I bid on some pool supplies and hose at an online auction, I ended up getting the hose for $10, however rather than it being 1 1/2" hose, which is what my pool is setup for, it was 2".

So what to do with 50' of this hose? I did a little googling and found some shopvac hose connectors on ebay, so ordered a few.

It did turn out the hose was a little too small for the connector to push in, even when heat is applied to the hose, so I cut a few relief cuts in the connector on the bandsaw, which worked like a charm.

Cool score. :thumb: I've used rubber sewer line couplings similar to this to connect mismatched vacuum hose fittings:

Yeah the Fernco fittings are what make most of my dust collection setup work at all :D

Nice save on the pool hose! You're doing pretty well with that new auction place there :D
