    Veterans Day

We are coming up on Veterans Day here in the US (next Wednesday). First celebrated to honor veterans of WWI on November 11, 1919 because on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 an armistice between Germany and the Allied nations came into effect. Over time it became the day to honor vets of all of our conflicts. Some interesting stories here....and a lot more if you follow some of the links. Gives one pause to think of the day as reason for more than just shopping discounts.

    Great post Ted !!!

I believe that some holidays should be observed on the actual day not on a Monday so people get a long weekend. Veterans day is one of those days.

Thanks for sharing these videos.. Really makes one stop and think of the horror of war.
    Pray for peace.
