    A very quiet year

This would be my third piece I have done this year, hardly a major effort. Originally the blank was supposed to be Queensland Maple but on second thoughts this is doubtful and I dont know what it is.

Open spirals, 6 all told, 8"x 3" finished in Danish Oil. As it will be sold I'm going to add some shine to it other wise it simply wont sell, although I prefer the matt.

Hughie, That's the most beautiful piece of dunno wood I've ever seen. Congratulations on keeping everything intact.

Nice looking piece Neil, I also like the matt finish, but you obviously know your market better than I.

Another great piece, Hughie. Does this piece have any "springiness" to it? Does it flex if you push down lightly on the top?

Yes it has some, not as fragile as a previous piece.

Yeah, I like that. It stirs my artistic blood.

I am also a fan of satin finishes. I also realize I am in a minority. (I am also in another minority, white, Caucasian, born in the USA of parents born in the USA.)

    Enjoy,

Very cool looking piece. I also prefer the matte finish over gloss. Guess that puts me in the minority with Jim.
What is the purpose of the other than being very attractive?
