I can cut them when I have to, sawing is not a problem it is removing the waist that I dislike. Usually I do my through dove tails on a table saw and use a bandsaw to remove the waist.
 
I tried making some through dovetails by hand. Actually got a few to fit together.

Decided by the time I was skilled at making them I could have made dozens of projects with a dovetail jig. So I bought all the Keller jigs which are essentially the same just different sizes and using different size bits..

The Keller jigs made through dovetails easy peasy. I made lots of tackle boxes and tool boxes and jewelry boxes with those jigs. Paid for my investment many times over and I sold them for as much as I originally paid. Great tools and easy to set up and use.
