It dawns on me I should explain what 'Reddit' and 'AMA' are.

Reddit is a site that has a lot of different 'sub-reddits'. Think of them as forums of a sort.

The AMA (Ask me Anything) is one of their more popular forums. People of note will go on there and 'Redditors' (people who look at reddit) will ask them questions.

So if you visit the link, you will see a list of questions. If you see a response tagged in blue, that would be from the 'OP' or original poster. In this case, the posts with the user name 'matthiaswandel' highlighted in blue are his responses.

Matthias is the clever guy behind woodgears.ca who has created all kinds of interesting tools and projects, such as a bandsaw, pantorouter, gear controlled boxjoint jig and such out of wood.

Just thought some folks might find it interesting.

I did look at it as I am a big Matthias Wandel fan. I had heard of redit but had no clue as to AMA. So thanks for the info. And like any comments section, the conversation wanders all over the place!

I think that is the main purpose of reddit, to stray off course. Not sure I've ever seen a thread there actually stay on target, lol.

There are a few sub reddits that are occasionally amusing (I don't spend a lot of time in them but check them every once in a while).

    https://www.reddit.com/r/turning - the vortex
    https://www.reddit.com/r/woodworking - generalities
https://www.reddit.com/r/diy - for your daily dose of 'you did WHAT you say" and "you shouldn't ought to have done it that way"
    https://www.reddit.com/r/metalworking - yup
    https://www.reddit.com/r/cnc - ditto.

It would perhaps be worth noting that the crowd over there is not nearly as copacetic as the locals in this area though

    Ditto.

I was trying to figure out if AMA meant something like American Medical Association, wondering if he was the carpenter in the news for male birth control.
