I had only a very small chamfer on the dog holes in my Roubo bench, today when using a hold fast, I had a blow out!

The hold fast was in the second hole from the right, so the back of the hold fast was against the left side of the hole.

Some epoxy and another holdfast....

Good as new!

now all the dog holes in my bench have a more substantial chamfer on them.

I guess maybe my dog holes are too close together, about 4" IIRC, but it is nice to have that adjustability in the bench.

Cheers!

Nice easy fix. Didnt realize that there were chamfers on the holes, so learned something from this. :thumb:

Edit: Oh, You added the chamfer now that I look back, good idear! :thumb:

That's a very nice bench, Stu. SYP should work just fine for years. Looks like you did a fine repair.

Thank you Ken, I just love it, I could not imagine my workshop without this bench.

The bench is Douglas Fir, not Southern Yellow Pine. If I ever wear this one out, I will make a very similar bench for sure.
