Well, it made it here again. It's supposed to be really nice weather here this weekend, but will be working inside most of it. My wife and I are supposed to go shopping for all the supplies to finish up the bathroom and laundry room projects tonight. Tomorrow will be changing out the main water lines on the house and getting ready for drywall. Probably more of the same on Sunday.

What's everyone else got going?

Its a good day to be above ground.
I'll be playing in the shop , turning and Stabilizing pot call. Plus pick up a another history book "The Military Experience in the Age of Reason" by Duffy Looking for to relaxing.

Yup it's getting warmer. Now out to the shop for more "desk" work. Doing my best to complete desk for LOML. Just year or so on the project but I now see light at the end of the tunnel. Talk about brownie points.

I'm in my shop now, as I am most days. I've been doing a little cleanup and machine maintenance. I'm also milling some cherry, maple and walnut for a marble game.

Saturday will be a mix of shop time and yard time. It's getting like Spring around here - forecast is for mid-80s by the middle of next week!!!

Sunday will be our routine of brunch, being lazy, and NASCAR.

Robotics competition today. Gonna cheer on the team that has been building theirs at the lab where I work on my CNC and tractors projects. Good kids. Polite, helpful, and super smart. Saturday yank an engine and tranny. Sunday is church and a nap. Been pushing pretty hard these last two weeks and I need a break. Though I am happy with my recovery and the slow return of my stamina. Weather is cooling. Rain on Monday and Tuesday. Paper work, taxes and a sermon.

busily despising bill because it is snowing again, soon to be followed by rain. oh well, supposed to be in the 50's next week. managed to lower the big board purchase from 62 to 54 boards, now just waiting for the bonus. going to be typing in the almanacks for the next couple of years.

Today I'm gearing up for a show I'm playing tomorrow night at a local casino with my #2 band.

Spring is sproinging all over our yard, so today and Saturday I need to get out there and do some cleanup, weeding, fertilizing, and other chores.

Probably going to spend some time Sunday at my dad's place helping to clear stuff out and getting it ready to rent. I need to clear off a bunch of stainless steel baker's rack shelving in the garage there that's going to eventually become shelving for my shop.

Playing the part of a single dad tonight as the wife has a girls night out planned. That means girl and I are going out for tacos! Tomorrow will be yard clean up...primarily the back yard as I have logs and limbs scattered all over the place and it really is an eyesore right now. The Jayhawks finish out the regular season tomorrow so I'll stop working to watch that for sure. Sunday will be shop clean up as I need to make room for a staging area for quite a bit of unused stuff we are donating to a charity garage sale. Best part is they pick the stuff up!! Happy Friday all!

Lousy weekend. My wifes uncle passed this week and a good fried lost his only grandson to a car accident. Will be busy with wakes and funerals and making some dinners for their families.

On the upside I plan to get some time working on the pew card holders for the church and playing with some new tools I decided I really had to have. Darn that Amazon Prime :D

oh boy,

I replaced my old pancake compressor, decided a 99 dollar compressor is not worth investing 25 or 40 bucks into it.

Ive been having nothing but headaches with my dw735 planer.
I had dropped it years ago(twice), and it never went up or down easy after that, but it worked, and I dealt with it.
Friday, while working, the adjustment wheel froze, wouldn't move at all. I gave it a little nudge, I broke a small 5 dollar piece.
but the entire chain mechanism was not moving, so the small sprocket thing I broke isn't stopping the chain from moving the body up or down.
seem the posts just got so overworn being off a drop, the threading was gone.
My son came over last night, looked up online, took the machine apart, took us almost an hour to take apart carefully.
looked up the parts, the posts, which it seemed clear I needed 2(the ones that the machine fell on), are 96 dollars each. A few pieces that go with it, the parts that hold the chain, tack on another 15 bucks each post, with shipping and tax, 250 bucks to repair this one.
after some thought, as much as it bothered me, I told him no, because maybe another post might be slightly mis threaded at 8 years old, I did drop the machined twice.
didn't want to get the parts, then something still isn't right. I was impressed once again, my son feels he can fix anything. any machine.
I ran to lowes and picked up another one, one I wont drop.
2 pieces of equipment in a week. Not happy.

yeah, I had the old machine all taken apart outside overnight, but today I realized I needed the screws for the extension tables.
so now Im thinking maybe completely disassemble the machine, take every part, or at least 70% of parts just in case?
now that's its apart, seems I can get most of them out, including the motor.
