maple cabinet

Very nice work. I am glad you stayed with a light finish on the rest of the piece. that is what I was secretly rooting for ;-) You will be glad you held out for the figure you wanted in the rails and stiles. If you hadn't it would haunt you every time you walked by it. DAMHIKT.

Thanks Glenn! Coming from you that means a lot. Light was the only way to go.

Well she's finished! Over all I'm pleased, far from perfect, but I'm happy. The base is cherry. I don't know why unless it's because of grain orientation with the base rail and the legs, but the picture makes the rail look lighter than it really is.:dunno: I'm a terrible picture taker!:D I HATE putting feet on stuff I make, but where this is going to live, on the other side of the wall is the bathroom. We had a small water leak. Not enough to rip up the floor thank gosh, but it caused some slight cupping of the floor boards right next to the wall. It caused the cabinet to have a slight rock, so I decided to put adjustable feet on. My next project is to make a hall table for the guy that gave me the old pine.

WOW those panels are certainly a BOLD statement.

They DO let you KNOW that they are there.

I just LOVE that sort of stuff.

And to think - how many people would think that is not good wood. Oh for shame

AWESOME - Love it.
