How to make a wooden vise

To go along with the workbench discussions, I found this and thought it appropriate. Would be good for delicate items. Hope it spurs someone to build it. Looks great as well as functional.

    Nice light duty vise.

Kinda disappointing that he used a threaded iron rod instead of threading a wooden one, though.

Didn't really need all the air driven nails, either. Glue woulda been all that was needed.

Your right Jim, a threaded hardwood dowel would have been excellent. It would be a conversation piece for sure, maybe for those doing craft fairs it would cause someone to stop and linger and eventually buy something.

Video was pretty neat. What I really liked was his home made compass/circle guide. I'm going to have to make one of those

Yep, agree completely. The iron rod ruins the spell of a "wooden vise". Many people underrate the abilities of wood items.
