    Red face Pivoting Drawers

I am trying to make a Jewry Box with Pivoting drawers.I saw a photo in a book (The Toolbox Book ) by Jim Tolpin. I am interested in the pivoting action of the drawers. The photo was by David Bevan on page 127.
Here is a approx jig I have made and it works, but I feel it could work better than it does. Any thoughts

What you have looks pretty close... No real suggestions but it looks like a cool project

Gayl, after making your prototype, what is happening that you want to work better? To much drag/drooping, to much friction???

God and family, the rest is icing on the cake. I'm so far behind, I think I'm in first place!

Too much drag & drooping you are right on.I have been thinking of using brass rods thru brass or steel bushings. Thanks a bunch,

I'd bet the brass rods and bushings will smooth things up a lot, Gayl.

Probably something between the bushings as well, a smooth washer would likely suffice.. If the bushings projected a wee smidge on each side that would also remove the bearing from the drawer bodies.

I'd keep the brass (or iron) rod, but consider nylon or Delrin bushings. They'd be both quieter and self-lubricating.
