Handheld CNC Router

I cannot get that video to play but I did see a couple of other videos.

I an guessing that the g-code program is on the dotted tape. That is how NC (numerical machines) used to work before they had computer memory.

What is the price for that little machine

Well they did a real good job on the marketing side with their launch.
Even Jimmy Diresta on Utube published a video of him using it to cut out a giant Diresta template.

Its a pricey piece of kit. I just question launching when delivery is in 2017. Something tells me that was pushed on them by nerves on the part of their vc backers to ascertain interest and secure orders to help cashflow production.
Clever to give it to a you tuber because he has something like 700k subscribers so its going to be put in front of a great deal of faces.

I would like to hear what Chuck Thoits thinks about it. Its going to have to appeal to pros as much as Festool Domino cutter does or its a dead duck i my opinion.

LEO its around $1500 US. Depending on when one orders.

This has me wondering what happened to the "portable" shopbot cnc machine that looked something like a DW 735 planer in size from what i recall.

FOUND IT

Still being sold. Wonder how this will affect it.

I think it's a little more versatile than the handibot. It seems to be a jobber tool more than a stationary shop tool.

I am a conventional kinda guy, and don't see the usefulness to this stuff. Not to say that there "could" be usefulness to it. Just saying "I" don't see it.

It is though small in size and big in mobility. I wonder though, is it just for engraving?

It played for me...the dotted tape isn't code, but instead it's used by the machine's camera to know its position on the workpiece.

Looks like a very cool machine. I'd almost be more inclined to spend $1500 on something like that than on a desktop CNC.

Of course, that video led me to other cool tools. I kinda like the idea of this one. It's a CNC mill, a laser engraver, and a 3-D printer, although I suspect it might be one of those Shopbot "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" tools.
