    surprise mirror project

yep, didn't see this one coming. the wife said that we needed a mirror to go along with the new dresser. her big idea was to have an almost 3 foot in diameter round one, until i let her know how much the mirror alone would cost, and what a pain it would be to make a frame for it. finally, she settled for a 30 x 36 inch rectangle mirror, and she approved of the frame for it. got all of the parts cut for it today, and need to run them through the planer tomorrow. i also threw a yardstick in the picture for reference.

never said anything about this in that marriage class bill. got some more done today. laid out the parts again, cut the tenons and arches, cut the through mortises, and did the first test assembly. i still have to cut the 2 small parts that go in between the uprights, and the new shelf supports (as the old ones have gone missing).

Does the mirror also go into the sidelight area, or is that for pictures or something else?

You must have forgotten about the part where is says, "If Momma(wife, etc.) is happy, everyone is happy!"

The mirror frame looks good. Let's get on the stick. I want to see the finished product!

    Enjoy,
