Im looking for some info on getting a color wheel to match some dyes so I don't go crazy trying to get a color match. Has any one used one and do they work?
I have a couple. This one gets the most use for color matching. This one is good for planning or correcting colors (like adding a little yellow to mahogany or a little blue to sapele).
If your going to learn the wheel you will have to do you own chart for adding Blue , addin g blue to tones gives the nicest blues, You can't get those tones with out blue because blue is a primary. Plus red and Yellow. With those 3 colors and Black and white you can make any color of that chart. So you opening a can of warms , have fun.
Dave thanks; would that also apply to dye? I would rather use dye if I could. I ordered dark red Mahogany trans fast dye. The problem I'm having is after I pre treat the wood with a wash of white glue and water 1% to 8% so it don't Bloch it comes out lighter than I would like.
