We're having a "Secret Santa" gift exchange at the office, so I decided to make a quick and simple cheese/serving board from the cutoff bin. We also needed something else for a gift bag we're giving to "Snow Plow Neighbor" who so thoughtfully clears our driveway, so I just made the glue up a bit longer. I finished shaping and sanding them on Saturday and got the first coat of flax oil on them:
The curvy one is my design, while The Wife® preferred a more rectilinear form. Wide angle distortion makes the 6" x 9" curved board look longer than it actually is. The straight board is the longer of the two at 6" x 11½"...which would have been 12" if I hadn't bobbled a router pass.
Wood species used: cherry (primary), curly maple (secondary), with accents of walnut and padauk.
