Some of you have already seen this on Facebook, but for those who haven't, Monday evening as I was getting off work, I tripped on a parking curb in a dark parking lot and fell hard on the pavement. Fortunately, my face and boyish good looks were spared. Unfortunately, I took the full force of the fall on my left elbow. It's never a good thing when the Urgent Care doc walks into the exam room with a scrunched-up look on her face after looking at your x-rays. Turns out I broke it pretty badly. I'll know more after seeing the orthopedic specialist Wednesday, but the Urgent Care doc (who's also an orthopedist) said she suspects surgery is in my future. Looks like my guitar playing will be out of commission for a while, and getting the shop put back together is also on indefinite hold. :(

Here's how it looked Monday night:

And here's what the Urgent Care doc saw Tuesday. (The lower bone is supposed to be one piece):

Nothing that time and healing can't fix, though. I've recovered from worse. ;)

I'd go blow that curb thing up for jumping out and tripping you like that. AWK!!! Without a doubt the thing is broke. But, you'll heal alright and fast after it gets fixed. Get better!

A double whammy....body slammed by the curb plus a hit to the wallet from lost income and medical bills. I can see the future Vaughn donning full hockey goalie gear to make the trip to the car after a show. Hoping all goes well and you heal fast. The two 'untouched' members of the DGP are probably wondering if this is a trend. Maybe an offering to Jobu is in order??:D

OUCH! Sorry to hear of your fall Vaughn. Hope the Dr's can get you put back into shape real soon. Get yourself a good book cause your looking at some downtime. Hope all goes well for you.

There's someting about broken bones that has always made me ill to contemplate, except when they are my own. So thanks for making me feel ill right at bedtime. ;) I hope you heal quickly, and are not out of action for too long. This too will pass. God bless.
