Who says the 3d printer is only good for printing toys?

Seems like every time I turn around, a couple of times a week, I have to fill up my coffee grinder. That means I leave the beans out on the counter and then have to fill it up in a bleary eyed caffeine deprived state of mind.

No longer! I designed and printed up an extension for my coffee grinder to let me store a more reasonable quantity of the magic beans.
It's about 150mm wide by about 100mm tall. 6 hour print, black PLA.

I'm not overly concerned about beans being in contact with PLA. From what I've read PLA is 'GRAS' (generally recognized as safe) and I'm not using it for intimate contact with the food like a mixing bowl or hot liquids or whatever.

Brilliant !!!!!!! Was lid printed too or was it from the original base.

And i would not worry about the food safe issue. I have had way worse in my mouth in my youth and i am still kicking.

Original lid. Fits perfectly, just like it did on the original base.

I did have to make several prototypes that were about 10mm high to get it right, but once I got the diameters right, I just stretched it out to the desired height.
