New 3D printer owner

Dan is the only one to guess.

Yes - I am the principle engineer to evaluate a 3D printer for the company.

We are looking into 3D metal printing for some complex parts.

Near Net shape. Printing is about +/-.005 accuracy, but we need to be less than .0001 in many cases. Leaving .02 on a surface, then grinding to the precision we need will be a tremendous savings. It is amazing what can be printed.

The company made 3 parts for us that would be impossible to machine. We will evaluate the structural integrity and density of the metal.

Machine cost is in the $3/4 mill range.

This is going to be interesting.
