I ain't dead yet.......I just smell like it.

Thanks all for the kind replies. Makes me feel at home again. Being two months in the VA hospital showed me vividly that there are a lot of folks far worse off than I am. Many-many amputees. That is somewhat shocking as most are not likely combat related. Few have family that visits. My daughter lives in Little Rock and came to see me often. That was very uplifting. I am following doctors orders and am hopeful I'll get back to 90% of my old self.

Thanks Ken, and all others. Improvement is happening at bit at a time. Two days ago I actually was able to pick something up from the floor. Prior to that my legs would have collapsed and I would have lost my equilibrium and fallen on my face. Big deal from my perspective. Another good sign, I'm actually thinking about getting back into the shop. Will approach that cautiously. My fingers are all still attached after 78 years and I plan to take them to the grave still in place.
