    Thanks for the kind words everyone, especially with regard to the miters. The box miters were straight off the table saw, after a lot of fussing with test cuts. The lid frame was accomplished using my first attempt at a miter sled. Now that I have a shooting plane, I need to work on a miter shooting board, then a donkey's ear version.

    I completely forgot to mention, this project marks two firsts for me: first attempt at miter splines...and my first real box.
