We had snow last night ! really ! all winter nothing and then an inch on the cars and ground.
Today is a nice delivery day, We have a 1820 Philadelphia desk that is awesome going out.
I thinking of driving the Volks to Va. for the evening to see my friends who been gone since before Christmas get a little preseason turkey scouting in and start working on the layout for the mural in Germany.
Enjoy the weekend all.

Nothing awesome or anything like that planned for today or the weekend. The weather is cool, in the mid 40's and supposed to be up in the 60's. Chances of rains moving in again Sunday. I do have a fair amount of cleanup in the shop I need to do. Really need to do it. So I'll probably end up doing a little bit and then going and eat some tamales. Haven't had my tamale fix for the week, yet. Had an unmercilessly big chicken fried steak sandwich yesterday which I could not eat all of. Thing was huge, and good tasting. Might end up being a semi boring weekend, but that's alright. Need one of those now and then.

Today dentist time. Had toothache ten days ago. Of course it's gone now. Get'er fixed good to go. Lots of shop clean up. The new lighting sure showed what a poor housekeeper I was. Little NASCAR Sunday..

CJ and Ashleigh coming for the weekend. Who knows what will happen, except I know they have asked for Pizza Hut pizza for Saturday night so that is the only for sure thing at this time. Chores and play time. Still working with Ashleigh on learning dominoes. CJ is coming along on learning how to play Knock. Be great weather for being inside and playing games. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Back to our gorgeous usual weather. Now I hope to cook this cold out of my head and breathe through my nose again! Weekend is catch-up on rain delayed activities and working the day job on Sunday. Frankly, I don't where to begin on the delayed stuff. Too much of it! For sure, I have to get propane - or freeze at night. Thinking about grilling up a bunch of chicken for meals this next week. Better go get it out of the freezer.

It's supposed to be up in the mid 60's this weekend, have a hitch to install on the Jeep and will be spending time with the grandson. I've got some builder grade cabinets we bought to put in our laundry room, but may end up using them in the shop and building a better set now for that project, so may be doing some re-arranging in the shop Saturday. Should have the grandson this weekend too, so lots of outside time, may have him help me with cleaning up the flower beds.

Light snow early this morning, but should be all gone very soon as we are looking for mid 50's by sunday. Jan had a knee replacement on Tuesday so I am occupied with keeping an eye on her as well as the houshold chores and making sure she does her exercises and meds. Getting some things done in the shop but carrying the walkie talkie with me in case I'm needed.

Cold snap down here, too! Well, it was 38F this morning - only going to 70F high today and tomorrow - this after 87F Thursday.

I'm splitting my time between my shop and smoker today. I picked up two Boston butts and now have them in the smoker. In the meantime, I'm getting the auto-level sensor set up on my 3d printer.

Saturday will be split between whatever I decide to do in the shop and gobbling down some of the pork after I pull it in the morning.

Sunday should be our usual brunch and NASCAR.

As usual, we'll be getting eastern seaboard weather 24 hrs later. Cold and windy tomorrow with just a few snow flurries, so I'll be in the shop, cleaning off my bench and thinking about some upgrades. Also trying out a new router plane.
Our big dump of snow from the Keeble visit weekend is all but gone, so I might bundle up and take some firewood bark and other combustibles out to the brush pile with the tractor while the pasture turf is frozen solid. I don't like making wheel ruts.

Well i was going to pack the ice fishing gear away this weekend, been hoping we could get another round in before end of season and with this cold blast we getting, maybe we will. Lol
- 10 Celsius here today and blowing a gale with snow flurries being blown around creating white outs.
Have to rethink weekend plans with weather change.
Enjoy your weekend folks spring is near for sure.

The forecast here is calling for temps in the mid 60s and sunshine. I'll be spending part of Saturday helping a friend get a new computer set up and loaded with the needed software. The remainder of the weekend is pretty open. I have some pruning to do on the fruit trees and other miscellaneous yard cleanup that needs to be done. How much I actually get done will depend on whether the cold I've been flirting with all week takes a hike or takes hold.

19° this morning. Forecast for 10° tomorrow morning... That's coming your way, Dave. Then, by Monday, 45°, and staying warm(er) throughout the coming week.

It's been very windy here, and I've got branches down all over the place, but with all the rain we've had earlier last week, the ground is still too mushy to get out there and cut them up. The overnight freezes only get the top inch or so, and the sun thaws them out enough to make walking - or dragging branches, etc. - a mess. Maybe next week...

I'm at my usual day late here... Spent yesterday getting a hair cut, going by local junk yard trying to find a replacement set of seat belts for my truck... my little dog buddy chewed up the seat belts when I left him in the truck... Ford wants about $800 to replace them, thought might find a set in junk yard, but no luck. On the way home spent a couple of hours cutting and loading a tree that fell along the river road. Today my shoulders are sore and aching... but got a nice haul of turning wood.

Today will be shop time getting ready for spring shows. Tomorrow no plans yet, probably more shop time.

Weather wise, it's 36 here this morning, sunny, with a high predicted to be 59...

I ended up taking the bug for a drive to the Va farm. Spent the day with my buddy. Just the usual, getting the mules stuck bag in the swamp. While Grosvenor walked out to get the tractor I took my new 18" Husqvarna chainsaw and cleaed a nice trail where I missed a big buck last year back there and when gro got back and we got the mule out of the swamp we went and dropped a 40' maple that was block a clear shot to the back end of the swamp.
After that he pulled out his grandfather's WW1 pgoto albums which was awesome to get references for the mural.

Had to cancel my girl's day out at the Peppermill casino. 30" of snow over the Sierra's didn't sound like a good idea for my friend to try to drive through. We've rescheduled for two weeks from now when spring will be sprung. Woke up to 2-3" and will be getting more in the next day. I'm so done with winter (although not complaining as we are finally out of our seven year drought)

Dave, KC has The National WW1 Memorial (https://www.facebook.com/theworldwar/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED&fref=nf), they have an on-line collections db if you're looking for more photos and other documentation... https://www.theworldwar.org/explore/online-collections-database

Sharon the drought may be over but next comes the weeds lol.

Sharon as a matter of interest when you guys get all that moisture in the dessert do you get a bloom of wild flowers after.

There is a place in SA called Namaqualand (used to be a big tourist draw) where few weeks after the rains, the place is a bloom of wild flowers of all sorts of colors.

Rob, we have that here in the Southwest. When the Four Hombres made their trek down the west coast some years ago, they got treated to some of that in central Arizona. I remember Larry saying (on our way to Don's) that he was surprised about how much color there was in the desert.

In the next week or so I plan a trip to the Borrego desert northeast of me here in Southern California. It ought to be awesome. I'll bring back some pictures. We still have a little rain today. Ten days to two weeks of sunshine and magic will happen.
