Not a fun day, but the install went pretty much to plan.

I first leveled the base and then put the side and middle components in place, fits like a glove!!

The cut out for the existing electrical and cable outlets.

Top component in place, it too fit really nice.

The TV is just sat on the bottom cabinet, as there is a problem with mounting it on the wall.

There are no studs in the wall.... the way is made up of sheets of 1/2" drywall pressed into blobs of drywall mud that dots the concrete wall of the building.
At this point I was feeling like death warmed over, and we called it a day.

Stay tuned for the dramatic conclusion!

I felt better today, but still not great.

My solution for mounting the TV bracket on a wall with no studs.

That is a 3/4" thick piece of plywood, the bottom edge is sitting on the floor. It has most of a tube of construction adhesive on the side that goes against the drywall.

I used SIX of this type of pop out drywall anchors, really large ones, the threaded rod I used is 3/8".

So they sucked the plywood against the wall really well, and once the adhesive dries the combo of the anchors and adhesive should keep the plywood in place.

I then screwed the TV wall mont in place and there was much rejoicing!

Next I put the two false wall panels in place.
I had to cut out an opening for the wall mount.

Boy does the track saw ever earn its keep on installs like this.

There is is 98% done, I left a space above the cabinet to allow for heat coming up the back of the unit, and as it turns out that space above is the perfect spot for his WIFI router and Apple TV.

Now they have wifi coverage out on their veranda, and even into the back bedroom. Before with the wifi router near the floor it did not work so well, bonus! I'll make a kind of crown moulin for to fill that space later.

I'll also be making some raised panel doors with smoked glass inserts for in front of the audio equipment.

They are just over the moon, they are VERY happy, so am I!!

On to the next project!

Cheers.

Fine work my good fellow, fine work.

Your solution for mounting the tv should withstand any of the tremors you are used to, never mind daily use.
