A fun little project for the grand daughter. Galvanized sheet stock glued to 1/4" ply then painted with primer and chalk paint. White oak frame and cabinet stained with Classic Grey from Minwax. Then General Finishes High Performance Top Coat, Semi-Gloss. Thanks for looking.
I like it, also like that the chalk doesn't go on the walls as easily as crayons and markers. However it doesn't help if you have, oh, say a subwoofer...
Another interesting note about subwoofers is that they have a large enough hole on one side usually that fits thomas the train cars and blocks quite well.
Darren, thank goodness the chalkboard went to the daughter's house. I have a subwoofer that looks close to that .... and it does not need chalk on it just yet as it is still functioning.
cool project, the real joy I get out of woodworking is two fold. First, taking raw wood and turning it into something useful or decorative, second, making it for a family member. granddaughter would take top priority if I had one.
