Darken Brass

For aging it, you should be able to use vinegar, but if you're wanting more of a dark brown/bronze color, I've used Novacan Black patina. If you've got a stained glass store or hobby lobby by you, they should carry it. If the brass is new, it may have a lacquer coating, soak the parts to be aged in acetone to remove that coating first.

Edit: A post on the black patina I did a few years back. I've also used it to take cheap brass hinges to the bronze look for a whole lot less than the actual bronze hardware costs... https://familywoodworking.org/forum...3-Going-from-Brass-to-Bronze&highlight=patina
