My day could not have been better.

Started with the door bell ringing around 8:30 am approx.

Well i knew a certain FWW member might pop round for lunch and guessed he got here early. I was absolutely right.

So i added more bacon to the pan and that kicked off a really wonderful day.

Any day spent with our Larry from Michigan i think is a great day.

We got done with breakfast and headed for the shop. Well Larry got stuck in helping me fix an error on the braai barrels frame.

We got the welding done and by that time my new Canadian arrive to meet Larry.

Lots of chatting ensued and then we got the scrap wood bin out and burnt out the barrel.

Naturally one cannot make a fire and not cook something.

So we got the boerewors out and put it on the braai.

Then we had some incredibly well made pap ( porridge thats close grits but finer corn) and Linda made our traditional tomato and onion gravy.

Add a couple of barely pops a oh man it was all delicious whats more the sun was shining and skys clear.

So the barrel halves have been burnt out and we can get with finishing them.

Larry had to leave late afternoon, was hoping he would stay over but had his brother on the loose so had to get back to a different visit.

Sure made my day being able to christen the barrel braai with him and share some of the boerewors we made the other week.

Bacon, boerewors, pap and barley pops? You might have gone a little heavy on the bait, but it seems to have worked. :D Glad the Ambassador made it up your way.
