WOW Allen - That is a really nice piece! Love the lines and the wood contrast.I can't believe how skilled you have become. The student is now the master.

thankyou gentlemen, it was an easy build, but since I got back from rennies, Ive been having breathing problems, and was in and out of doctors offices, pulmonary specialists, hospital for blood work, checking for clots in lungs, made building this miserable, I wasn't feelin gwell for weeks, but I pushed on. Seems between severa allgeries and some acid reflux , finally took care of it, Im able to devote more time now, so Id like to start an expandable dining room table shortly. This was practice working with sapele.

I sold my ford f150 this past week, so now we have to make sure we secure the right sized vehicle to deliver this.

truck just sat in the driveway, never really used it anymore. got topdollar. Im happy, and no more insurance on it either.

Really nice design. I like that a lot. About three feet wide? Should provide for ample storage.

Beautiful piece of furniture.

I'm betting your dining table will be finished before Brent's is, too. :D

yes bob, for my daughter. Jim the top is around 44 inches wide by 20 something deep.

thanx for all the kind comments.

before I start the table I need to do some cleanup, take out all the rolling tables/benches, vacuum all the corners, up on top, organize the crap I have all over the place, I never like to stop in the middle of builds.

then I need to get some turning done, make some boxes, boards, pens, stoppers, for gifts so I don't have to worry about them later on, including ofcourse, the bandsaw reindeer which are a hit each year. Get all that out of the way, then Ill start the table.

I sold my pickup truck this past week, so Im glad they were able to fit it in her suv today. just made it.
not sure how they are going to get it up the stairs, but I hope they get some strong people to help them, my son offered to drive back to their home with them, they said they can get help tonight. Im not involved in shipping anymore.

Very nice work Allen. This is a piece that will be used for many years and passed on for future generations to enjoy. Well done!

I cant seem to catch a break with my health.

I wanted to start the table after this unit, but Ive been in and out of eye doctors, neurologists, and soon another specialist.

Monday I have an MRA of the brain, weds an MRA of the neck, and next week eeg , whatever that is.

Im having loss of vision in my right eye, only for 1 minute, then comes back, Ive had small episodes for the past 4 years, always thought it was myasthenia related, now its happening more frequently.

yesterday, the neurologist, who I trust , assured me he doesn't think Im about to have a stroke and blindness, or worse, death, because usually people who lose vision like that, it happens within one or two episodes, so tests, tests, tests, so far, every single test has been 100% normal, blood flow is perfect, so Im waiting on them to figure this out. I don't want to work on a project without my head fully focused.

not catching a break it seems.

anyway, for the past week or so, Ive been going through the firepit bin, pulling out all the strips that I used to cut to pen blanks, but I have 100s of blanks Ill never use anyway, so I started glueing up strips, and made some small boxes. here they are about to be oiled.
just trying to keep busy, bea;utiful weather, nothing to do, don't want to sit in house like now on the computer.

I had some old walnut flooring that was too cracked to use for anything so I cut it into small pieces and glued them up to make the knob handles(why not use the lathe for something)
