While at Rennies "Sunken Wood" family gathering this summer Jonathan brought a "shop" pencil that he had made and presented it to Rennie. I had not seen those before and thought they looked pretty nice so I found a couple kits and took the time this weekend to turn one for myself. I didn't have the bushings for the kit so I took a chunk of UHMW and spent about an hour and carefully made my own bushings using calipers to make sure they were exactly as they should be. This is the "Tool Box" pencil kit from Rockler. Wood is spalted Hackberry. Finish is about 6 coats of CA. Looks like it will be handy to have in the shop....if I can keep from losing it.
