I've had several people ask about these, so tried my hand this past week and took to market yesterday... surprised i didn't get more attention or sell any....
All are between 3 1/2" and 5" dia, all are bout 3 1/2" high, with the pestles about 6" long.... finished with polyurethane on the outsides, but mineral oil on the inside as I was thinking the grinding motions might wear away the poly... the pestles are also mineral oil finish.
Bradford Pear
Walnut
These two are both from a chunk of Oak I've had standing in my shop for about 4 years.
I picked up the piece a 6x6x approx 24 inch piece from a saw mill in Harriman, TN... same place we picked up the
little Silky Terror puppy... Harley was about 4 months when we got him and is about 4 years now.... that is some hard wood to turn.
