    Spalted Box Elder Hollow Form

This is a nicely spalted piece of box elder, one of the largest hollow forms I've finished to date. It's about 7" wide by 5 1/2" tall. I tried something a little different for the rim, and I'm still deciding if I'll use it on other pieces in the future.

This is another one finished with Formby's Tung Oil mix inside and out, but I started the buffing with white diamond, then finished up with Renaissance Wax. There a little tinge of red up by the rim, but there are also some green highlights on one of the sides.

What are your thoughts on this one, especially the rim?

Very Cool Vaughn, I like it a lot. Once I get the bowls down I'm wanting to try hollow forms. Keeping consistent wall thickness is still a challenge for me.

Vaughn....I really like this one! The wood, form and finish are great. I like the lip technique. I gives the piece an even "lighter/thinner" appearance. Well done sir!

Vaughan I really like the form that is what I was going for when I blew out the top. Great job and I wish I could turn HF's like you.

    Hi Vaughn,
The shape is choice and the rim works well. A beautiful form.

Very attractive. I like the lip treatment. You are getting that HF business down cold.
