How to draw an arch in SU?

I'm having trouble drawing an arch in SU where the ends stay flat in/parallel to the X axis. Here is what I'm doing: draw a rectangle, then draw an arc connected to one of the corners, then use the follow me tool to draw the arch. But the face end of the arch lifts off the X axis (as a piece of real wood would do if you bent it). Any suggestions?

Charlie, could you post a SketchUp file of what you are doing so I can see? You can attach a small SKP file to your post. then I'll be able to figure out exactly what's going on.
