I have an ongoing tree rat extermination program in my yard. This morning I shot three. As always, within minutes, a buzzard showed up to get rid of the tiny corpses. I don't know how they know there is a dead animal waiting for them. Surely the decay process doesn't start instantly. But, they come, take the dead critters into the edge of the woods and feast. They sure ain't pretty but they do an important job.

Frank, as buzzards go, it is a handsome animal. You got a good picture of him/her. We have them sailing around all the time, they surely do know how to work the air currents.

All relative to your age, some of us are fearful of circling buzzards
