Three on One

Never liked the odds with three on one and even two on one always made me want in on the side of the outnumbered. When I played street basketball I always played hard, but clean, until I found out what the "rules" of play were as determined by the guy guarding me. :D I liked it rough but only if "my man" was trying to intimidate me.

This however is a different story, a story of shadows and rebirth:rolleyes: , evolution and execution ! Darkness made darker yet, by eliminating all unwanted, unecessary light (oh how wonderful the light, especially appreciated when you have so little). A play involving the rich and powerful and those who wish they were!  Is it not enough that some seem to have so much? Is not one on one enough?
Not here, not today! It's THREE ON ONE!

all about the crack.jpg
The bottle like thing on the left is white oak, and needs a little hollow forming, but it is the one on the right that has a secret. I will save that one for now.
So Cecil, you are right I turn for the crack.

This was the first one I did. He was on a budget so I was limited designing in anything real fancy. It was a fun build too.
It is the three in one I talked about. It happened back about 4 years ago.
Tuscany was the theme.

WHY the driveway?

hey shaz wasnt there anything on tv better to watch than his driveway? and the kitcken counter in the upper left corner.. must be he had someone coming and staelun pies of the ledger:D

Man, I hardly ever turn on my TV...
Yeah, I perfer to turn on my lathe instead. I find it hard to keep the chuck attached reliably to the TV. Also, anybody know where to find a decent toolrest for a 35" JVC?

Shaz, I like the columns that get shorter and shorter on the sides of that threesome cabinet. It adds to the illusion of depth. Very nicely done.

Larry, You just never know what will show up on one of these screens!

Fabtastic! :D :thumb:

Man, I hardly ever turn on my TV, and this fellow has THREE TVs.........?

:dunno:
Stu,I think this is one step up from a single split/screen tv:D

That's a real neat unit, so now he can watch 3 channels of nothing at the same time!
Ed, I don't think they do woodworking so I can only imagine "Sports"?

Yeah, I perfer to turn on my lathe instead. I find it hard to keep the chuck attached reliably to the TV. Also, anybody know where to find a decent toolrest for a 35" JVC? Must admit, You are a mentally creative Blonde Guy!

Thanks Vaughn, Had he the money it was my intent to make those sides open up either on soss hinges or piano hinges. It would have allowed for mega dvd storage, library style. The column sides were designed this way as the entry for this room is down a hallway with the side of this cabinet staring you in the face as you walk down the hall toward this room. They did not like the idea of a plain stile and rail raised panel side so this is what they got!

So thats the three in one.
Hi Steve,
Yes, those pictures are of a three in one, at the time it was a design build.
The second was also a three in one, it was a remodel to house two more TV's in addition to the also new big one within and existing cabinet. I have no photos of it but it happened:rolleyes: .
This third THREESOME is a three on one beings that it is one wall upon which three tv's are mounted. The wall was prepared ahead of me and this is what I was left with.

With things looking like this, and me expected to fill the space around the three tvs with cloth panels I submitted the following quickie for approval, which was accepted.

These next few photos show off the set of the three tvs.

Difficult to see, I know, I had to work in the darkness. These photos are taken with a time exposure as a flash was very little help.

The intent was to cover the wall with cloth. This cloth comes in ( I think) a 72" roll, thankfully but some rolls are only 60" bolts. Best to know what you need. Sometimes more obvious than not there are 3 concerns with the cloth. UPDOWN, LEFTRIGHT, FRONTBACK.
First the measuring with the tvs in their resting position. I use story poles. for height, width and placement.
Next cut frames to fit my measurements and take them to the site and fit them. I have been using double roller catches.
With all the panels in place I make notes on the plywood frames themselves, for modification back at the shop, prior to painting. Once the frames are modified by adding to or taking away I spray the fronts black so as not to reflect the light colored plywood under the cloth.(trade secret, shh. don't spread it around:) )
Wrapping the cloth is next then installation.Sounds simple enough.:D
Attach panel #1
