This is a public service announcement, I was experiencing some slip on my carriage lock on my DW734. I had just PM'd the machine a couple days ago and guess I hadn't been using the DRO till today. The slip was so small I didn't notice without the DRO. Fortunately all I had been working on up to discovering the problem had a tolerance of around 1/16" or so; real rough work.

I use a dry spray lubricant on the height screw that dries foggy. This doesn't show on the height screws which are black but on close inspection I could see that I had over sprayed onto the shiny guide posts. Five minutes of my time and a little mineral spirits cured the problem. Hope this helps others achieve a quick problem isolation or fix if they run into the same issue.

That's my good deed for the day, now back to the shop.
