This box elder bowl is 9" wide by 3 1/2" tall. Nothing real remarkable about the form IMHO...it looks more utilitarian than artistic. I was trying for a pretty traditional bowl shape, based on a crockery mixing bowl my grandmother had. At least I got the shape I was trying for.

The finish is my standard Formby's Tung oil, buffed. Is it just California, or is Minwax Antique Oil getting scarce? None of the local home improvement centers (borgs and mini-borgs) seem to have it. (I'd mention my personal suspicions, but that would delve into areas the CoC doesn't really want us to talk about here.)

For the life of me I couldn't get a clean, crisp transition at the bottom of the rim. Whatever I seemed to try, it still needed a little sanding, and the sanding would mess up my line. I eventually gave up before I ran out of rim and just radiused the dang transition. :bang:
