And .... attempt #2

Where are you getting dry weather?????
Direct sunlight, I haven't turned a bowl yet that is considered nice, but won't this method produce cracks? Thought the process was wrapping it in newspaper, putting it in a paper grocery sack in an unlit closet for a couple of weeks to a month.

Gentlemen, you need to get associated with Alcohol process of drying green wood turnings,
Simple matter of turning within 10% of the desired thickness, soak the piece in a vat of denatured alcohol over night. Next day air dray and then wrap in paper sack material, bind with masking tape, weigh the piece and record. set aside to cure. each ady or so weigh the piece again and record the drop in weight. After a couple of read show no drop in weight (two weeks usually) then unwrap the piece, rechuck and finish the turning, You will find it a great help for future successes. (PS save the alcohol for future projects as you can re use over and over and over .....)

Sorry to see the news about ol' Number 2's demise. Keep practicing and watching, and make sure you've got your face shield on. ;)
