There was a gentleman at the fair who had a whole wood shop of old tools, saw, shaper lathe, all hand or foot powered.

Figured you guys would get a kick out them.

7 and 8 aren't wood working tools, gold star to who can identify it

Those are some fine tools. Better than I have seen in a lot of museums and restorations. I would love to see that. He must have a huge job just packing and moving all that. Was he selling anything or just showing off? Impressive. Very impressive.

He brings it every year Frank, none of it is for sale.
We get a lot of stuff brought in for display. From antique tractors, to hit and miss and engines, Steam equipment, We even had a guy there digging a hole with a cable operated shovel.

They had a circle mill sawing up logs, while across the way a John Deere A was running a planer, the chips coming off where the size of my thumb in length and probably close to an eighth inch thick.

There was a baler that was hand fed and run buy a horse walking in circles.

A threshing machine run off of a steam engine.

I've got close to 80 tractor pictures alone, a lot of those have 3 and 4 tractors in them. I would have more pics but a certain 14 year old great nephew was more intent on taking pictures of girls

heres a couple of the more interesting things
A collection of pedal tractors an older gent brings every year, including his home made combine and mounted picker.

And what day would be complete without a pink Farmall

Cool stuff, and thanks for the pics. My guess for pics 7 and 8...electric hair curlers?

And using using a 14 year old kid as your cover for having pics of cute girls on your camera...you should be ashamed of yourself.

You folks have one great county fair going there. America still lives in folks like you have around you. :thumb: Very exciting. I would love to see that fair sometime. You haven't said where you live. Where is all that terrific down-home goodness? BTW, the tractor pedal cars and antique tractors were fun to look at. There were even a couple Massey-Harris there.

Only the largest fair in the state, bigger than the state fair even. People actually camp there for the whole week. My wifes cousin is one of them one of them. come on up you can visit with Jim and I

OK, that makes sense, eastern Ohio. We lived for about seven years in Indiana near where Ky, In, Ohio meet. There is a lot of , deep seated, unspoiled, old-fashioned, American pride around there. And, a lot of serious old tractor and antique buffs too. A visit to that fair would be exciting. Mebbe next year.

Robert,
I particularly liked the hand-cranked table saw, with the 'power' feeder. One could really work up a set of biceps with that thing!

Hey come on up Frank, If nothing else you get entertainment value out of Jim and I

OH OH Frank, you do civil war reenactments don't you? Get your best Rebel uniform out. You can raid the Yankee encampment while your here. Just let me know ahead of time I want to video tape it. Them poor boys would flip when Ole Frank reb strolled in

I thought the saw was kind of slick myself Jim.
Amazing what our forefathers got by with and look what we have to have

Civil War? Never heerd of it. Mebbe my grandchildren will get involved. For now, I'm still hanging around in the 1776-1820 period after whooping the Redcoats. ;)
