Crib build

Just a quick update:

Drilling the top and bottom rails for the spindles. This make up the front and back of crib. I taped the doweling jigs extra holes so I didn't get confused

Ok it's been done for a while but haven't had a chance to post pics. Went with about 6 coats of shellac and sanded with 220 then 600 and rubbed it out with parafin oil and rotten stone. It should be at least as smooth as the new babies butt:D

Great job Doug!

I agree with Tod in that finishing is a bugger, it is taking me almost the same amount of time finishing my chair than actually making it!.

Have you aready decided on a name for the baby?

Toni it definitely took me longer to do the finish vs. the build. It took many hours to wet sand with the 220 then 600 and then polishing with the rotten stone. I won't doing that again anytime soon. I'm going to trade labor with a finisher to do the finish on my dresser that I posted on another thread.

As far as the babies name he is going to be boy # 4
